We have been wanting a little fenced-in riding area that is bigger than the round pen but smaller than the pasture, especially for the kids to ride in, but we weren’t 100% sure where we wanted to put it long term. So we decided to go with t-posts about every 20ft covered by PVC piping/caps so we could move it to a different area pretty easily if we decide we want different footing. Then we used politape fencing around the t-posts! We got it put up in just 2 days and it worked perfectly! Murdoch’s Farm and Ranch had all the tools, t-posts, fencing, & clips that we needed! ✔️
Step 1
Set your corner T-Posts, and string a line from one corner to the other to establish your fence line.
Step 2
Pound your T-Posts into the ground along the fence line with a T-Post Driver. We decided to place our t-posts ever 20 feet apart, but you can do more or less.
Step 3
After all of your T-Posts are set its time to cut all your 2″ PVC pipes to length. We decided to buy 10 foot PVC pipes and then. cut them in half so we would have 5 foot PVC pipes to go over each t-post.
Step 4
Put all the 2″ PVC pipes over the T-Posts. Use 2″ PVC Caps for a cleaner finished look. Not needed but they will help protect the T-post long term.
Step 5
Mark all over the PVC pipes at the desired height, from the ground, to put the 1.5″ Poly tape. We decided to only use 2 rows of poly wire. It worked out that we only needed two spools of poly tape. You could do 3 or 4 whatever look you’d desire.
Step 6
Attached the 1.5 inch poly tape clips. Clips do not come with screws so I used self tapping screws with my Dewalt Impact Driver.
Step 7
Wrap the Poly Wire Fencing around and clip into the fencing clips. Simply tie at the end or at specific posts where you want a gate. There are also specific ending clips but you can just tie it if your not going to energize the poly wire with a hot wire.
