Prairie Farmhouse Our Story

Our Story

We bought this little 100 year old abandoned homestead with every penny we had in 2022. Lived in a tiny old camper out here for 3-4 months while we made the house livable, then started cleaning up/building shelters for animals. We have been learning everything as we go as we didn’t come from a agricultural background. It’s been quite a journey & we have learned SO much already! Over the past few years we’ve acquired a few farm animals — chickens, ducks, horses, cattle, & kunekune pigs.

We love that so many people are following along with us on this adventure as we bring this old homestead back to life! We first started our instagram/Facebook accounts to show people you can be low middle class/come from nothing/be from the city and still start a small homestead! It just may not look super pretty.. haha.

We hope to one day make this place a cute little farm where we can have people come out & enjoy our animals/land as a form of therapy. This way of life has helped us more than we could ever describe & we just want others to be able to experience it too!
